DIY: Soul Mate Chest

Hey hey!

Welcome to the beginning of this beautiful February! *blushies* Can you believe it's almost over?

February, what a time to remember that love exists--whether you remind yourself that you're in a relationship or not.
If you're not in a relationship, this is a fun DIY activity you can do. It's inspired by the movie Practical Magic, wherein the younger versions of Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman's characters made a spell--not a chest entailing qualities they'd like to see in their future soul mates, like that he, she, or they will have one green-colored eye and one blue.

Even if you don't believe in soul mates, it really makes you think about what you value in a potential partner.

Objective: Basically, you find all of the items in your house that you would want to have in your significant other for the future. It's kinda fulfilling to do and really neat to just create the possibilities!

When you are done, write up all the inventive ideas in a concealed chest, or more so a box, where you will one day find this box or chest when you are for certain that you have found "the one". Oh, and don't forget to conceal this chest of yours in a kinda "hard-to-reach" zone that is still somehow attainable!

Step 1: Get a box or chest of some sort, though preferably small to medium-sized.

Step 2: Scour around your house to find items that reflect the qualities you wish to see in your soul mate.

The items can be close enough. For example, I put a Domo pin in there because I want it to reflect a quirky, random quality about my loved one. Some things can be trivial and quirky, while other things can be straightforward.

Step 3: Put them in your box/chest.

Step 4: Bury the shit out of it or put it in a place where you can't reach/access it.

And when you do have a significant other, you can dig it out from the ground or obtain it from its hiding spot and see if your loved one reflects the representations of qualities you contained in the box/chest.
